Armenian side expects from its CSTO allies a clear political assessment of the Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia on September 13-14 this year, and the draft decision of the Collective Security Council "On joint assistance measures to Armenia" in its current version did not satisfy the Armenian side from this point of view, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Vahan Hunanyan said in an interview to Radio Liberty.

"Therefore, it was decided to send the document for revision," Hunanyan said in response to a question about what proposals presented by Armenia, which were never accepted, as a result the draft decision was also not signed.

"Unfortunately, some CSTO partners linked the adoption of the CSTO Collective Security Council declaration and statement of the Council of Foreign Ministers on supporting peace efforts in the South Caucasus with the adoption of the decision on joint assistance measures to Armenia and as a result, all three documents were sent back for revision," he added.

Yesterday, the Collective Security Treaty Organization did not adopt the three documents.

Although CSTO did not make a political statement and did not condemn the Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia, today Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan assessed the discussions held the day before at the CSTO Yerevan summit as "open, sincere and positive". Yesterday Pashinyan refused to sign the CSTO declaration and the draft on joint assistance measures to Armenia, arguing that the document had not been finalized.
