CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev said that security experts of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) were able to agree to hold joint anti-terrorist exercises, Rossiya-24 TV channel reported.

"Work in the sphere of security within the CIS has intensified. We have intensified interaction with other organizations dealing with similar issues - it is with the CSTO in the CIS space, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. We have agreed both to hold a conference of international experts in the field of security and to combine some exercises aimed at ensuring security, in particular the anti-terrorist exercises," he said.

Lebedev noted that disagreements within the CIS countries are being exploited by external forces that have intensified their activities.

The plots of terrorists, international radicals. They have activated their activities, so we want to resolve our internal conflicts as soon as possible, so that these forces, which, unfortunately, are spent on resolving conflicts, can be directed to reflect external threats, the CIS executive secretary explained.
