Iran has signed a memorandum with Russia on the export of its cars worth $300 million, the head of the Iranian Association of Auto Parts Manufacturers Mohammadreza Najafi Manesh said, RIA Novosti reported.

A memorandum was signed on exporting cars to this country (Russia) for $300 million, Fars news agency quoted the head of the association of manufacturers as saying.

Iran's largest company, Iran Khodro (IKCO), produces cars in Iran. Among the famous models of this brand is the Samand sedan, based on the Peugeot 405. There are also produced repurposed Peugeot cars and crossovers of Chinese brands Haima and Dongfeng. In 2021, a compact sedan Tara was produced in Iran, remade from the Peugeot 301. At the moment, the company is preparing to launch a new model Rira, built along the lines of Peugeot 208, 508 and 2008, as well as Citroen C-Elysee.
