One of the commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Amir Ali Hajizadeh noted that more than 300 people, including security forces, died during the protests.

According to him, many of the victims were ordinary Iranians who did not take part in the protests, but security forces were among the dead.

Thus the organization "Human Rights Activists in Iran" (HRAI) publishes the information that 451 protesters and 60 security officers were killed in the riots, more than 18 thousand people were detained.

Mass protests in Iran began this fall, following the death of Mahsa Amini, a woman detained by the vice police in September outside a Tehran subway station for improperly wearing a hijab. She died a few days after her detention.
