Ankara coordinated its actions with Moscow during the air operation in northern Syria and Iraq, Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said Tuesday.

"These issues are being discussed, regarding our plans for air force operations. How did we enter the airspace in Tell Rifat? Discussed it with Russia, coordinated our actions. We are planning, discussing, coordinating, acting," Kalin told AHaber TV

Turkey has been conducting an air operation since Nov. 20 against the Syrian wing of the country's outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party in northern Syria - strikes were reported in the city of Kobani, as well as in northern Iraq. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan called the operation a success and did not rule out a ground operation to follow.
