Hungary will not allow the convening of the Ukraine-NATO Commission until the authorities in Kyiv restore the rights of ethnic Hungarians in Transcarpathia, said Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, who participates in the meeting of foreign ministers of the North Atlantic Alliance in Bucharest, TASS reported.

"We made it clear years ago that until Ukraine returns the rights of Transcarpathian Hungarians, we will not contribute to the convening of this body," Szijjarto wrote on his Facebook page (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized as extremist in Russia). He noted that Hungary has not raised the issue since the armed conflict began in Ukraine and does not intend to do so yet. "Let's hope that there will be peace as soon as possible and then this issue can be discussed again," the minister said.
