At Thursday's Cabinet session, the Armenian government approved the draft of the presidential decree on approving the recovery and resilience facility grant funding agreement with the European Commission of the European Union (EU).

The rationale for the decision states that the purpose of this agreement, which was signed in October, is to assist in the green, inclusive, and resilient socioeconomic recovery and development in Armenia in the post-pandemic and post-war period.

The respective program is founded from the EU budget—and with a total cost of €23 million, within the framework of the EU-Armenia 2021-2027 indicative program, without the co-funding component of the Armenian side.

Within the framework of the program, high competitiveness of Armenia’s private sector in order to have greater socioeconomic impact and attract investments, and strengthening of the country’s shock-responsive social protection system are planned.
