During the 29th OSCE Ministerial meeting on Thursday, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell.

During the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of cooperation between Armenia and the European Union and exchanged views on expanding the bilateral agenda, the Foreign Ministry press service informed NEWS.am.

Mirzoyan and Borrell also focused on regional stability and security issues.

The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs recalled Armenia's commitment to the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus and appreciated the EU's assistance in this direction. He noted that Azerbaijan's unconstructive position and maximalist aspirations impede the efforts for achieving peace and increase the probability of escalation. The necessity of removing the consequences of Azerbaijani aggression towards the Armenia's sovereign territory was stressed.

The interlocutors attached importance to the deployment of the EU observation mission in Armenia and discussed issues concerning its activity.
