YEREVAN. – Within the framework of the criminal proceedings launched Thursday by the Investigative Committee of Armenia, actions are being taken to find out the circumstances behind the plane crash in Kotayk Province, the Investigative Committee informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to preliminary data, at around 2pm Thursday, a B-55 model plane crashed in the area of the sand mine in Jraber village of Kotayk Province and burned. As a result, the two people on this plane died on the spot.

An information request has been submitted to the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia regarding the exact type of the above-mentioned plane that crashed, its affiliation, the circumstances behind its entry into and operation in Armenia, the identities of the pilot and the passenger, as well as a number of other data.

Measures will also be taken to find out the causes of this plane crash and the respective circumstances.

The criminal investigation is ongoing.
