The UN has published evidence of the crimes of "Islamic State" against the Christian population of Iraq, reported the American TV channel ABC.

The report of the UN investigative team on the Iraqi Christians recorded cases of property seizure, sexual violence and enslavement. According to the report, the crimes were committed mainly in the vicinity of Mosul in northern Iraq, where the country's Christian community lives.

The UN stressed that these cases have been a regular occurrence since 2014, when IS fighters seized about a third of Iraq's territory. Despite the Iraqi authorities' declaration of victory over the terrorist organization in 2017, the militants have managed to maintain enclaves in the country and continue committing crimes.
