French President Emmanuel Macron has invited Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani to meet in France in early 2023, according to a statement from Macron's office Sunday following a telephone conversation between the two leaders of both countries.

The two sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation between France and Iraq and that France would help Iraq in its fight against terrorism and encroachments on its sovereignty, the statement said, Reuters reported.
