Authorities of Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have decided to start negotiations on comprehensive economic cooperation, the UAE's minister of state for foreign trade, Thani Al Zeyoudi, and Ukraine's economy minister, Yulia Svyrydenko will negotiate the development of bilateral trade ties, Reuters reported.
"For us, Ukraine is a key trade partner. The growth and investment potential was high before the whole geopolitical situation; we think it's time to push things forward," Thani Al Zeyoudi, UAE minister of state for foreign trade, told Reuters.
The main emphasis in bilateral trade would be on expanding turnover in the services and food security sectors. A possible free trade agreement with the UAE will expand the geography of sales of Ukrainian products, opening new opportunities for the export of agricultural products and industrial goods to countries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, the article specifies.
