Several children were injured in a knife attack at a school in southwestern Germany, reports Bild.

It is specified that in the morning of December 5, a man attacked two female students of Stuttgart elementary school in the German state of Baden-Württemberg and escaped to a dormitory for refugees. The incident occurred in the commune of Illerkirchberg, both schoolgirls were seriously injured.

Eyewitnesses immediately called the police and the rescue service. The rescue service provided assistance to the girls and took them to the hospital, writes the publication.

According to Bild, police surrounded the building where the perpetrator had escaped, stormed it and detained all the occupants. The fact of the incident is being investigated.
