British households will spend about £189 million (about $229 million) on Christmas tree lighting in 2022, according to Sky News television's website.

In 2021, households in the United Kingdom spent about £73 million on Christmas tree lighting, at a rate of £3 per household. In 2022, one household will give an average of about £7 for decorations.

Those who have not switched to LED lights (which consume 80% less energy), will spend an additional £27. The TV channel notes that despite the ban on the use of garlands with halogen bulbs in the UK, many Britons prefer the old sets.

Last week, analyst firm Mintec estimated that Christmas dinner in the United Kingdom will cost 22.5 percent more in 2022 than last year.
