The first container train left Uzbekistan for Europe to bypass Russia, Podrobno.uz reports.
The train consisted of 46 cars and carried 91 containers with cargo of copper concentrate. Along the new route it would cross Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and arrive in Bulgaria.
It will cross the Caspian and Black Seas using ferry crossings. The length of the new route is more than 4,000 km.
