YEREVAN. – The seismological network of Armenia on Wednesday recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 in Iran, at 2:08pm local time, 20 kilometers northeast of Salmast city, and at a depth of 10 kilometers.
The tremor measured magnitude 8 at the epicenter, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The seismic activity was felt also in Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Ararat, and Armavir provinces of Armenia, as well as in capital Yerevan.
