In Iran, two police officers were killed and another was injured Monday night in an attack by unknown assailants in Sistan and Baluchistan province in the southeast of the country, Tasnim news agency reported, citing provincial law enforcement commander Hossein Ashtari.

"Last night, members of the Bampur police station were attacked by criminals while on patrol," he said.

The attackers fled the scene.
