A debate on the blockade of the Lachin corridor and the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh was held in the Westminster Hall of the British House of Commons on Tuesday. The debate was moderated by Loughton MP.

According to a House of Commons report the blockade has caused humanitarian concern as food and medicine cannot be delivered to the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh, numbering about 120,000.

According to them, more than 1,000 people, including hundreds of children, remain in Armenia unable to return home to Karabakh.

The authors report that in addition to the blockade of the Lachin corridor, Azerbaijan also cut off gas supplies to Nagorno-Karabakh on December 13.

Fuel, medicine and essential goods are reportedly running out, and local Nagorno-Karabakh authorities have imposed price controls and rationing, the authors added.
