The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan reacted to the statement of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) on the need to unblock the Lachin corridor.

The commentary published by Azerbaijani media, along with numerous reproaches, contains openly distorting statements and conclusions.

"UN Population Fund's statement of 24 January on the situation around the Lachin road causes surprise and regret, which is biased, does not reflect the truth and is not relevant to the organization's mandate," the commentary says. The commentary points out that "illegal activities in the territories of Azerbaijan, where the Armenian population is concentrated, threaten the national security of Azerbaijan and such illegal activities must be stopped." The MFA called on the UN Population Fund to be "impartial and to refrain from actions and statements that would harm the reputation of the organization."

Since the beginning of the criminal action of pseudo-ecologists in Azerbaijan, they avoid calling the Lachin corridor a corridor.
