Finland's Defense Ministry has granted permission to export defense equipment to Turkey.  The document, signed by Defense Minister Mikko Savola, concerns the export of 12,000 tons of armor for military equipment. Steel company Miilux from Brahestad applied for the permit, Hufvudstadsbladet reported.

Finland has refrained from selling weapons and other defense equipment to Turkey since Turkey attacked Kurds in northern Syria in 2019. Miilux is among the Finnish companies subject to an export freeze. In October 2019, a Turkish pension fund bought seventy percent of Miilux.
