A Brazilian resident faked his own death to see who would come to his funeral, writes Oddity Central. The man's act angered friends and family members.

In early January, Balthazar Lemos posted on social media about his own death. On the eve of the publication, the man shared a photo taken at the entrance to a local hospital, thus hinting to his followers that he had health problems. When news of the Brazilian's death spread rapidly, his friends began expressing condolences in comments. Later, people were told the date and time of the funeral.

Lemos' friends and family gathered in a small chapel in his hometown. At one point, Balthazar's voice began to speak about his life, and some of those present began to cry. Then the doors of the church opened and the Brazilian appeared before the crowd. He explained that he had faked his death to see who would come to the funeral.

Funeral guests accused Lemos of cruelty, while the man himself replied that he never meant to cause people grief.
