Washington continues to believe that a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear dossier is the most effective. The Iranian delegation headed to Cairo to comment on the Iran nuclear dossier, said U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in an interview with Al Arabiya.

He said that Iran has rejected an offer to return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran's nuclear program, while Washington continues to believe that diplomacy is the most effective solution on the Iranian nuclear dossier.

The U.S. president has reaffirmed his determination to prevent Iran from possessing nuclear weapons, Blinken said, stressing that all options are on the table to prevent Tehran from doing so.

The secretary of state accused Iran's leadership of reprisals and said the U.S. continues to look for ways to stop punitive measures by Iranian authorities. He denied Tehran's accusations that Washington is seeking regime change in the Islamic republic and stressed that the United States supports the Iranian people and leaves it up to them to decide about regime change.
