Israel and the United States will step up efforts to counter Iran so that Tehran does not acquire nuclear weapons and the means of their delivery․ Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this at a press conference following a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who arrived in Israel on a visit.

"I think there is a general consensus that this (Iranian) regime should not acquire nuclear weapons. We had an excellent conversation about developing a common policy and trying to work together to prevent this danger... Our policy and my policy is to do everything in our power to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and their means of delivery," Netanyahu said.

The Israeli Prime Minister also noted that he hoped to make a breakthrough toward normalizing relations with Arab countries. He added that working to "close the file" of the Arab-Israeli conflict would help achieve a solution to the Palestinian problem.
