Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a phone call with his Japanese counterpart Yoshimasa Hayashi on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Mirzoyan spoke about the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno Karabakh, which emerged as a result of Azerbaijanis illegally blocking the Lachin corridor, the Foreign Ministry press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The actions of Baku are a flagrant violation of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020 and international humanitarian law, and are aimed at subjecting the people of Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing.

Mirzoyan also mentioned the importance of Japan's continued assistance aimed at strengthening Armenia's capacity in various fields and institutional development.
