The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) acts coherently and effectively despite external pressure and a difficult international environment, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said, RIA Novosti reports.

"Despite the external pressure and difficult international situation, the Union acts coherently and efficiently, based on mutual support and willingness to solve the problems in a timely manner. This approach allows us to maintain stability and, of course, continue to work for the benefit of the citizens of our states," Mishustin said, speaking on Thursday at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in a narrow format.

He notes that Russia, currently presiding over the Union this year, will ensure the continuity of the course, aimed at strengthening of integration building.

Russian Prime Minister also pointed out that the EAEU is steadily developing and clearly demonstrates its effectiveness and relevance. Thus, the absolute volume of mutual trade between the states during the existence of the EEU has increased by more than one and a half times, trade in non-resource goods with high added value is growing.
