In order to further develop the Union it is necessary to continue systematic and consistent work, based on a solid foundation of internal capabilities and resources, aimed at ensuring economic development, increasing the competitiveness of the national economy and the welfare of our citizens, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the meeting of the EEU Intergovernmental Council.

He deemed it important to create favorable conditions for business to achieve these goals, to work on removing barriers and increasing interaction in business sphere.

According to him, measures to support producers at all stages of production play a decisive role.

In this context, Pashinyan noted the importance of the earliest elaboration and adoption of legal acts aimed at applying mechanisms of financial support for industrial cooperation projects with integration potential.

The Armenian Prime Minister is confident that the development of this direction will allow industrialists to concentrate their efforts on their own production in such sectors of the economy as mechanical engineering radioelectronics, aircraft construction, software production, pharmaceutical and medical industry.

"Formation of a competitive industry of the Union is also conditioned by the level of technological independence and the dynamics of introduction of new technologies. This is an indisputable priority for the EAEU in the short and medium term. Strengthening of technological independence has a direct dependence on the transition to a new technological way and cannot be carried out at once. The transition will require the modernization of existing industries, as well as the creation of new innovative sectors.

The union should create a system of technological forecasting for the timely identification of the most promising trends in technological development. The creation of a data bank of the best available technologies can become an important element of cooperation," Pashinyan concluded.
