The Eurasian Economic Commission is very attentive to the experience of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member countries regarding the formation of the electricity market. Iya Malkina, the official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission, announced this during a videoconference on Friday.

She recalled that the Armenian government had approved the electricity market liberalization program back in 2017, and said that this process continues.

"Moreover, within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, the process had started earlier. However, during the formation of the single electricity market, we studied the positive experience that the countries have already gained," added Malkina.

She expressed hope that the documents, which were adopted today at the extended meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, will enable to ensure electricity trade within the single market of the EAEU.
