The head of the Hong Kong administration John Lee said that the authorities will provide 500 thousand free air tickets to travelers from all over the world, RTHK radio reports.

According to him, Hong Kong has resumed contacts with mainland China and the whole world and "is entering a new era of comprehensive reconstruction."

Earlier, the Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China for Hong Kong and Macau said that normal communication between these cities and mainland China will be restored on Monday, Feb. 6.

This refers to the return of pre-pandemic travel from the PRC to the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions, which are accessed through a system of border checkpoints.
