The head of the Turkish city of Adana informed that a fourteen-story building collapsed as a result of the earthquake.

The powerful quake was felt in ten provinces of Turkey, about 22 aftershocks were recorded and they continue until now, said Suleyman Soylu, the Turkish Minister of Internal Affairs, on the air of TRT television.

The first shock had a magnitude of 7.4, and the aftershocks had a magnitude of more than 6.

Rescuers are clearing the rubble.

Turkey has asked for international assistance.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of the country noted that the 7.4-magnitude earthquake occurred in Pazarcik region of Kahramanmaras Province at 4:17am local time.
