The Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Syria will engage the army to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake in the country. This is stated in the Telegram channel of the MOD.

"The Ministry of Defense of Syria is mobilizing all its units, formations, and organizations in all governorates—to provide emergency assistance to the victims of the earthquake, to search for people trapped in the rubble, as well as to provide assistance to the victims and eliminate its consequences," reads the Syrian MOD press release.

A strong earthquake hit early Monday morning in Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, and Tartus Governorates of Syria, as a result of which 237 people were killed and 639 others were injured. According to Al Hadath television, 400 people were pulled out from under the rubble.
