The Hatay Airport in the south of Turkey is out of order. After the earthquake in the region, the runway was damaged, Turkish vice president Fuat Oktay informed on Monday.

"Hatay Airport in Antakya city is out of order because its runway was damaged," Oktay informed in a briefing.

He noted that about 80 aftershocks were registered after the quake.

According to Oktay, Turkey has received offers of help from several countries—and mainly by sending search and rescue teams.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred in Kahramanmaras Province of Turkey on Monday at 4:17am, and caused destruction in a number of cities. A total of 284 people died in the quake, and about 2,500 people were injured, Oktay had informed earlier.
