As a result of the devastating earthquake, the number of Armenians killed in Syria has reached four. Hovhannes Aleksanyan, the Head of Strategy Development at the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia, told Armenian News-NEWS.am about this.

"Most likely, the [two additional] casualties are the father and daughter undergoing surgery, the death of the mother and son of whose family had become known in the morning," he added.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred in the Kahramanmaras Province of Turkey on Monday at 4:17am local time, causing destruction in a number of cities. It was also informed about the respective devastation that happened in several regions of Syria; the earthquake was felt also in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The number of casualties has reached 284 in Turkey, and 237 in Syria.
