Clergymen of the Georgian Orthodox Church will be deprived of the right of deferment.  Such a ban is stipulated by the Defense Code, which was submitted to parliament by the Georgian government, Georgia Online reported.

"Given the geopolitical position of the country and the principle of total defense, a new system of reserves is being introduced. One of the important factors of this system is the staffing of the reserve both from persons with military training and from persons who will have special non-military skills, which will improve the process of reserve management, especially in crisis conditions," the bill says.
