Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan intends to hold general elections in Turkey on May 14, despite a massive earthquake that killed more than 7,000 people, Bloomberg reported referring to officials familiar with situation.
On February 7, Erdogan announced the introduction of the state of emergency in the country for 90 days amid an earthquake.
According to Bloomberg sources, the president plans to hold elections on May 14, as originally planned, and the state of emergency may end earlier.
