At the meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, they talked about his personal participation and interaction with the president and the prime minister of Armenia, as well as his desire to act as a mediator in the matter of rapprochement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and they support it. This was announced by Toivo Klaar, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, in an interview with Moambe.

Klaar hopes that in the future the cooperation between the EU and the three countries of the South Caucasus will expand even more and become closer.

As per the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Georgia's aspiration to play the role of a bridge between the neighboring countries, Azerbaijan and Armenia, is welcome for peace and stability in the region.

It is very important that all three countries of the South Caucasus work together and contribute to peace; and Georgia's role as a bridge between Armenia and Azerbaijan is very important, Klaar said.

The steps taken in that regard were discussed with the prime minister of Georgia, and it is hoped that in the future the cooperation between the EU and Georgia, the EU and the three countries of the South Caucasus will be even closer in that regard, added the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus.
