Britain's King Charles III will not go skiing in Switzerland for the first time in 45 years, reports The Sun, citing a source.

Charles III has a tradition of going to the Klosters ski resort in Switzerland almost every February or March for the past 45 years. This year, however, according to The Sun, the British king will abandon the practice in order to avoid unwanted criticism and avoid getting sick or injured on the eve of his coronation.

There are several reasons, not the least of which is that it is not nice to ski in Switzerland during a cost-of-living crisis, and Charles III is not an ostentatious man. Besides, it would be a disaster if he were injured, the journalists quoted an insider as saying.

The coronation of Charles III is scheduled for May 6. The ceremony will take place in Westminster Abbey and will be held by the Archbishop of Canterbury. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to be among the 2,000 people invited.
