The price of copper is rising on Thursday, according to the trading data. Investors remain optimistic about the prospects for demand from China.

March futures on copper on the Comex exchange rose by 0.64% to $4.0735 a pound (about 0.45 kilograms).

At the end of Wednesday's trading on the London Metal Exchange (LME), a ton of copper with delivery in three months shrank by 0.36% to $8,892.5, aluminum - by 1.72% to $2,481 and zinc - by 0.14% to $3,132.
