Turkish authorities are redeploying rescue teams to other areas of the country affected by the earthquake, following the completion of search and rescue work in the province of Sanliurfa, the Turkish Authority for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations (AFAD) reported.

The governor of Turkey's Sanliurfa province, Salih Ayhan, said many buildings were destroyed and urged local residents to leave their homes.
