There is some cunning, there are talks, some actions about so-called corridors, but Iran and Armenia will not allow such a corridor to be created. Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri stated this during a discussion Thursday.

He noted that it is necessary for Armenia and Iran to work in this regard, and to take initiatives.

"We should not allow the initiative to stem from another side, and we just comply with it. On the contrary, we must take the initiative ourselves. We should look at what steps are needed, not wait for an initiative to open some corridor, and then think about what position to take and express it. We should not allow this," the Iranian ambassador said.

He considered the distortion of historical facts to be an important problem. And if there were no territorial exchanges, today, in his view, the geopolitical situation in the region could be different.

"Other countries wanted the Islamic revolution to fail [in Iran]. This led to the Iran-Iraq war, as a result of which Iran did not lose an inch of land. It proves that the unity of the people can achieve success even in the conditions of 40-year sanctions. Other countries can also follow that example," Zohouri added.
