Yerevan does not consider the issue of reopening of the Lachin corridor as a precondition for participating in the negotiation process at the level of the foreign ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan. Sargis Khandanyan, the new chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia and a member of the ruling majority Civil Contract Faction of the NA, stated this during a press briefing in the NA on Monday.

In particular, Khandanyan recalled that the Russian side announced earlier that it was preparing a meeting at the level of the FMs of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan.

"Whether Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan will participate in this meeting will depend on the situation. However, there is no problem for us regarding participation in meetings organized by the mediation of this or that party, including the Russian [one]," added Khandanyan.
