Some matters of bilateral relations were discussed, and specific agreements were reached. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government—and referring to his visit to Turkey on Wednesday.

He noted that the Turkish side appreciated the service of Armenia’s rescuers and the humanitarian aid Armenia sent to Turkey after the devastating earthquake that hit the country last week.

"I believe this was an important humanitarian step on our part," added Mirzoyan.

"There is a decision to speed up the dialogue process and the processes taking place for the purpose of final [re]opening of the borders [between Armenia and Turkey]. It was announced that we will carry out joint work on the restoration of the historical bridge of Ani.

Basically, before the start of the tourism season, we will also work to complete the crossing of the land border [between Armenia and Turkey] for citizens of third countries and citizens with diplomatic passports of our two countries," said the Armenian FM.
