Indonesian police said Sunday they will deport to Italy a mobster who was arrested on the island of Bali after seven years on the run in connection with drug trafficking and organized crime, The Associated Press reported.

Antonio Straingio, 32, appeared on Interpol's "red notice" list after being arrested in Bali on Feb. 3.

Bali police spokesman Satake Bayu Setianto cited security concerns, refusing to say when Strangio would be deported to Italy, where he is wanted on charges of trafficking 160 kilograms of marijuana.

Strangio is allegedly linked to the Ndrangheta Mafia group, which Italian prosecutors say is the most powerful criminal organization in the Western world.
