The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry broke out a commentary on the statements made by the Armenian and Luxembourg Foreign Ministers at a press conference the day before.

"The Armenian Foreign Minister is distorting the discussions and negotiations on the peace process and is engaged in manipulation. With his statement, the Armenian side once again demonstrates that it is not interested in peace in the region," Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry comments. The Foreign Ministry stated that "the refusal of the Armenian side to offer a border checkpoint to stop the illegal use of the Lachin road, designed only for humanitarian purposes, once again shows that the intention of the Armenian side is to continue using the road for illegal purposes contrary to the Trilateral Statement of 10 November 2020, repeating the statements that the protests led to a "blockade" and "tense humanitarian situation." The Foreign Ministry noted that, in fact, the claims that the Lachin Road actions have created a "tense humanitarian situation" have no basis, Armenia is using it for its own political purposes."

"As for the international mechanism regarding the rights and security of the Armenian population living in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and Armenia's claims in the issue of dialogue with Armenian residents, it should be noted that, as clearly stated at the Munich talks, the rights and security of residents of Armenian origin living in the region will be provided in accordance with the Constitution and legislative acts of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani side also stated that it is ready to conduct a dialogue with those who have the right to represent the Armenian population, and not with those who arrived in the Karabakh region from outside and call themselves representatives of the Armenian residents. In accordance with the norms and principles of international law, as well as the Prague and Sochi agreements, in which countries mutually recognize the territorial integrity and sovereignty of each other, Armenia should not interfere in the internal affairs of Azerbaijan and renounce its territorial claims," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said. The statement of the Foreign Ministry also says: "The position of the Luxembourg Minister is absolutely biased, without knowledge of the situation in the region and totally contradicts the relevant principles of international law. It seems that the Luxembourg side has not given up the practice of using theses which reflect the false propaganda of the Armenian side. We reiterate that such provocative and biased statements cannot be an obstacle for the future development and progress of the region based on the principles of international law."

The order of functioning of the Lachin corridor is fixed in the statement of November 9, 2020. Thus, the Azerbaijani authorities confirm the course of rejection of the agreements and the attempt to achieve their revision by force.
