Kazakhstan sees no risks or threats from Russia in the context of the events in Ukraine, Mukhtar Tileuberdi, the republic's deputy prime minister and foreign minister, said.

"We don't see or feel any risks or threats from Russia at the moment," he said Tuesday at a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, responding to a related question from a Western journalist.

Tleuberdi recalled that Kazakhstan is a member of the EAEC, the CSTO, the CIS, along with other states that border Russia or are in the region. "And so we consider the relationship with Russia as an alliance that operates within the framework of these multilateral structures. As far as bilateral cooperation or bilateral relations are concerned, we have a solid legal framework," he added.

He also stressed that the fully delimited border between Russia and Kazakhstan is the longest land border in the world at 7,500 kilometers.

"Kazakhstan continues to implement its multi-vector foreign policy, and by doing so we try to maintain a system of checks and balances to ensure mutually beneficial cooperation and relations with all countries of the world," the Kazakh foreign minister said.
