A visit by the Bundestag delegation to Armenia is expected in the near future. German Ambassador Victor Richter announced this at Thursday’s signing ceremony—in Yerevan—of the agreement on opening offices of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Development Bank (KfW) in Armenia.

He stated that Germany assists Armenia not only in the economic sphere, but also in the formation of peaceful, stable, and safe conditions in the South Caucasus.

According to him, Armenia and Germany are at the phase of active development of their relations, which is confirmed by mutual visits of their senior officials.

The German diplomat informed that Armenia and Germany have outlined the domains of their cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, economic development, as well as effective management.

"We collaborate with the European Union, contributing to the implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement [(CEPA)] between Armenia and the European Union and bringing Armenia’s standards closer to EU standards," Richter noted.
