International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi has left for the Iranian capital on Friday, IRNA reported.

The plane carrying him landed at Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran.

Grossi was met by the spokesman  of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Behrouz Kamalvandi.

Fars news agency had reported Thursday that Grossi will "meet with officials of the Islamic Republic" in Tehran and discuss "various matters."

Euronews informed that the IAEA chief plans to meet with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to discuss the matter of resuming the dialogue on the Iran nuclear deal.
