YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan has proved for many times that it cannot guarantee any autonomy for national minorities and subjects, let alone European model, MP, spokesperson of ruling Republican Party Edward Sharmazanov told Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on the Azerbaijani President’s statement that Karabakh may have successful European model of autonomy.

According to Sharmazanov, Azerbaijan proved its disability to guarantee European model regarding Nakhijevan. It is currently left by the Armenians and even Armenian monuments were destroyed.

“I would like to state for the Azerbaijani President that Karabakh people decided their destiny by themselves according to the Constitution and international law. Karabakh gained its independence and made Azerbaijan deal with it in the war field. It is better for Aliyev to stop putting himself in a funny situation, by making such statements and covering the eyes of its own people,” the ruling party MP stated.

Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier that Azerbaijani President stated Karabakh is the biggest issue for Azerbaijan and the conflict threatens the region. Aliyev blamed Armenians for the ethnic cleansings, as a result of which ‘millions of Azerbaijanis became homeless and refugees,’ while he kept silent on thousands of hundreds Armenian forced refugees, the situation still continues.
