Armenia is a European nation. And if Armenia expresses a wish to become a member of the European community, then we must assist Armenia with active steps on that path. Michael Roth, the Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag (parliament), told this to a press conference in Armenian capital Yerevan on Wednesday.

"This should be Armenia's free will. We want to deepen both political and economic relations with Armenia; and in that context, we attach importance to the visa liberalization process, which should take place at a fast pace as possible," Roth added.

The German legislator informed that he had already had some meetings in Armenia and will still meet with young politicians and representatives of civil society of the country.
