The first round of the 19th Khachaturian International Competition is underway at the Komitas Museum-Institute in Yerevan.

At this at this round, each participant will perform a solo concert, with a maximum duration of 45 minutes, the Aram Khachaturian Cultural Foundation informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The names of the musicians who pass the first round will be announced tonight.

The second round of the 19th Khachaturian International Competition will start Friday.

The Khachaturian International Competition is organized by the Aram Khachaturian Cultural Foundation and supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia. The competition has been a member of the Geneva-based World Federation of International Music Competitions (FMCIM) since 2013, and operates under the rules set by this federation.
