Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the confiscation of the Russian Antonov An-124 Ruslan plane and its transfer to Ukraine, Reuters reports.

The Russian Ruslan plane of the Volga-Dnepr Airlines, carrying a cargo of covid tests from China, was chartered by the Canadian government and arrived in Toronto on February 27, 2022, two hours before the authorities imposed air restrictions on the flights of Russian planes due to the [military] situation in Ukraine.

Canadian PM Trudeau, who is on a surprise visit to Kyiv, also announced additional sanctions against 24 citizens and 17 enterprises of the Russian Federation.
